About

Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy captivated my imagination many years ago when I first read it.  With my unavoidable interest in the unknown, outer space and in comedy too, I couldn’t put it down.  Fast forward 20 years or so later.  The essence of Adam’s creation has never really left me.  While my Mars Opera has no direct relationship to the writings of the Hitchhiker’s Guide, the Guide itself helped build a foundation or galactic viewpoint as to how I view the space (literally:-)) around us.  I have other strong influences that contribute too.  Like the multitude of technical presentations and discussions I attend on things like anti-matter propulsion drives and other peculiar nuances of space-time travel.  Also, all the exposure to cool things at my day job at the NASA Glenn Research Center and of course, my bug-like attraction to anything that has blinky-lights on it or otherwise appears technically interesting.

As a standalone effort, the Hitchhiker’s Guide has a very deep cult following.  I’m part it:-).  If you’re a fan of these types of things (or perhaps just drawn towards blinky-lights like me), you may as well like my Mars Opera.
